There’s a game developer Barbie doll on the way

Toy company Mattel is bringing a game developer Barbie doll to the market later this year.

This is part of the firm’s ‘Career of the Year’ push, dedicated to the toy icon’s chosen field of a particular year. The previous year saw Barbie pursue her career of being a film director.

The game developer Barbie will be available this summer. It was announced alongside fashionista, spy squad and president and vice president toys.

This isn’t Barbie’s first foray into video games. In 2014, Mattel launched a book called ‘Barbie: I Can Be A Computer Engineer’.

The toy firm later had to apologise over perceived sexism in which Barbie needed the help of a man to code.
