They’ve only gone and made a Princess Bride game

You’ve read the book (well, you probably haven’t) and seen the film, and now Princess Bride fans are being invited to play the game.

The Princess Bride: The Official Game, from Gameblend, pulls very firmly on all those heartstrings by milking the nostalgia for all it’s worth. Four scenes from the film are directly reproduced with a number of mini-games offered, all of which can be seen in the trailer below.

An additional Fire Swamp level is to be added at a later date.

Surprisingly the game isn’t free-to-play and is actually a premium download – it costs 2.99 in the UK.

The Princess Bride is perhaps best known as a 1987 film starring a number of recognisable names, not least of which being Andre the Giant. The fantasy romance on which it was based was published back in 1973.

This is actually the second Princess Bride game to be released following Worldwide Biggies’ 2008 PC release.
