Third GaymerX expo rebrands as GX3: Everyone Games

The future of the GaymerX expo appears to have been secured, with news of new funding, a third event and a rebrand.

The LGBT-focused event is to next year go under the name GX3: Everyone Games as it wants to represent everybody, although it will continue to serve those who may feel they don’t reside within the mainstream.

Furthermore, following the recent confusion surrounding the support of NIS America a number of games companies are now on board with funding including Devolver Digital, Coffee Stain Studios, Mike Bithell and Blizzard Entertainment – the latter of which has committed over $10,000.

The organisers are also seeking further funding through Kickstarter, having already raised $33k of its $80k target with three weeks left to run.

We’ve become more and more aware that not all of our attendees identify with the ‘gaymer’ label,” the organisers said. And while we love all our gay dude friends, we realize there are more people than that who want an awesome space to hang with their friends in a safe and diverse environment.

We want to make sure we represent everyone who feels like they’ve been left out of mainstream gamer culture. Everyone games.”
