Torchlight 2 reaches 1m digital sales

Runic’s digital isometric RPG Torchlight 2 has sold over 1m units.

"We had an amazing 2012, and proud to say that Torchlight2 has sold over one million units! Thank you! Happy New Year’s Eve everyone :)," a tweet from developer Runic confirmed.

The milestone was reached just three months after the game’s launch. The original Torchlight, which was released in 2009, took 18 months to reach the same milestone.

Torchlight has been dubbed by many as the most viable alternative to Blizzard’s Diablo series, and took full advantage of the prolonged wait for Blizzard’s game by tapping into its market.
