Trilogy snaps up logistics firm

UK distributor Trilogy Logistics has acquired third-party logistics company CM Lane.

The buyout will provide Trilogy with greater warehouse capacity and staffing as part of the company’s ‘ongoing growth’, it said this morning.

CM Lane, which traditionally works in the entertainment business on behalf of toy companies, was founded in 1974 and operates over 250,000 sq ft of warehousing space in Northampton and Dunstable.

Trilogy will move its operations to the Northampton base over the coming months and will retain all CM Lane staff as part of the acquisition.

CM Lane originated within the transport business and has built a particularly strong relationship with Argos.

Managing Director of Trilogy Matthew Allen said:

We are now working with some of the best names in the entertainment industry and this acquisition will ensure that we can service them effectively with a solid supporting infrastructure. This acquisition not only quadruples the size of our warehouse operation, but it also doubles our head count and creates more opportunity for growth.”

Trilogy’s video games clients include the likes of Ubisoft and Midway. The firm also works with DVD, Video, Books and Consumer Electronics.
