Two more join Hocking in Amazon Game Studios exit

Clint Hocking isn’t the only high-profile member of Amazon Game Studios to leave the developer.

It was reported yesterday that Hocking, who joined the then growing studio alongside Portal lead Kim Swift in April 2014, has now left the company.

GameSpot reports that two other big names have also exited – principal game designer Jonathan Hamel and director of narrative design Eric Nylund. There has not yet been any official comment or reason given for any of the departures.

Amazon showcased a range of titles last year and in June began advertising for developers for what it described as an ambitious PC game”. It is also rumoured to have signed a licensing deal to use Crytek’s CryEngine.

The news also comes as The New York Times released a damning report on working conditions at Amazon – although boss Jeff Bezos has challenged many of its claims.
