UK CHART: FIFA 09 nets No.1 in debut week

EA has kicked off the race to grab the Christmas No.1 spot by taking FIFA 09 straight to the top of the official UK Top 40 Chart.

Last week’s No.1, LucasArts’ Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, drops to second in the ELSPA/GFK-Chart-Track ranking.

Other than FIFA, there isn’t a single new entry in the Top Tn, with Sega’s Samba De Amigo the only other new entry in the Top 20. Bizarrely, Nintendo’s Super Mario Galaxy jumps back into the Top 40 in 21st position.

Elsewhere in the Top Ten, Ubisoft’s Brothers In Arms: Hell’s highway climbs from No.4 to No.3, whilst Nintendo’s Wii Fit drops from No.2 to No.4.

Mario Kart Wii dips from No.3 to No.5 and EA’s Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 drops one place from No. 5 to No.6.

THQ’s perennial Top Ten resident Big Beach Sports, Nintendo’s Wii Play, Disney’s Pure and 2K Play’s Carnival: Funfair Games make up the rest of the Top Ten.
