UK CHARTS: BioShock 2 claims no.1

Highly anticipated FPS sequel BioShock has shot straight to the top of the ELSPA GfK-ChartTrack All Formats Top 40 on its first week of release.
Furthermore, it becomes the biggest new release of the year to date in the process, surpassing EA’s Mass Effect 2 in the process, which slips down to eighth place.

There are no other new entries in the Top Ten, though Sega’s Bayonetta climbs from 36th to tenth thanks to some competitive pricing at retail. Similar discounting sees EA’s FIFA 10 climb two places to number three, though the football title isn’t able to dislodge Ubisoft’s Just Dance in second spot.

Here is the ELSPA GfK-ChartTrack All Formats Top 10 in full (for the week ending February 13th):
1. BioShock 2 (2K Games)
2. Just Dance (Ubisoft)
3. FIFA 10 (EA)
4. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Activision)
5. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo)
6. New Super Mario Bros Wii (Nintendo)
7. Wii Fit Plus (Nintendo)
8. Mass Effect 2 (EA)
9. Dante’s Inferno (EA)
10. Bayonetta (Sega)
