UK CHARTS: Fallout is No.1

Fallout: New Vegas is the new UK No.1, according to this week’s charts courtesy of UKIE GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40.

In doing so it beats the week one sales of predecessor Fallout 3 by 29 per cent.

Bethesda’s win comes at the expense of last week’s chart-topper Medal of Honor, which clips to second spot ahead of fellow EA title FIFA 11.

There’s another new face in the Top Ten, too, with Nintendo’s DS puzzle outing Professor Layton and Lost Future claiming fourth place.
There was less good news for Sega, however, with new PS3 and Xbox 360 shooter Vanquish managing only 12th in its first week of release. Other new entries include EA Sports’ MMA in 23rd and the highly-rated DJ Hero in 25th.

Here’s the UKIE GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top Ten in full (for the week ending October 23rd):
1. Fallout: New Vegas (Bethesda)
2. Medal of Honor (EA)
3. FIFA 11 (EA)
4. Professor Layton and the Lost Future (Nintendo)
5. Just Dance 2 (Ubisoft)
6. Wii Party (Nintendo)
7. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo)
8. F1 2010 (Codemasters)
9. PES 2011 (Konami)
10. Dead Rising 2 (Capcom)
