Uncharted 4 debuts at No.1 in Japan

The latest entry in Sony’s Uncharted franchise has been a smash hit in Japan, according to data from Famitsu.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End sold 124,028 units in its first week, clearly in the lead ahead of Nintendo’s Kirby: Planet Robobot, which sold 241,134 copies.

Third place was also a 3DS game – Yo-Kai Watch Sangokushi – which sold 10,047 copies.

A Thief’s End also helped the PlayStation 4 be the best-selling hardware of the week. Sony’s machine sold 22,109 units last week, ahead of the PlayStation Vita which sold 10,834 copies.

The Vita achieved this due to Jikkyo Powerful Pro Yakya – the Vita SKU of which charted at fifth – as well as continued strong sales of Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition.

Nintendo’s New 3DS LL came in at third in the hardware ranks thanks to Kirby: PLanet Robobot, Yo-Kai Watch Sangokushi and Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3.
