UPDATED: The Evil Within release brought forward a week

The release date of Shinji Mikami’s survival horror title The Evil Within has been brought forward by one week.

The game was slated for an October 24th release, but it is now listed on Bethesda’s website as coming to stores on October 18th.

This is just ten days after fellow survival horror title Alien Isolation.

It’s worth noting that October 18th is a Saturday. The last time a game came out on a Saturday was Pokmon X and Y last October and everyone – and we mean everyone – broke that street date and it was on shelves on the Friday.

MCV has reached out to Bethesda for clarification of this date.

The Evil Within was originally set for an August 29th release but was pushed back.

UPDATE: Bethesda has told MCV that The Evil Within will in fact be coming out on Friday October 17th.
