US: The end for Game Crazy

North American video game retailer Game Crazy is to close, it has been confirmed.

The decision comes after parent company Movie Gallery filed for bankruptcy in February of this year – the second time it has done so in the last three years.

Over half of Game Crazy’s total of 250 outlets has already been closed. The rest, along with the additional 430 locations found within or alongside Hollywood Video shops, are expected to follow shortly.

Gamasutra reports that 200 Game Crazy outlets were closed last October. The future of the chain’s Canadian operations remains unknown.
