VIDEO: Halo 5 Guardians TV trailer is bad news for Master Chief

We suspect this is not the spoiler it appears to be on face value, but regardless Microsoft’s TV spot for Halo 5: Guardians strikes a downbeat chord for fans of its main star.

The video, which you can see below, depicts the global announcement of the death of the Master Chief, or Spartan-117 if you prefer.

We must end this, not be ended by it,” the announcer states at the close. It’s highly probably there’s far more to this than is currently apparent.

Halo 5: The Guardians launches worldwide on Xbox One on October 27th.
