Vivendi Games revenues hit 1bn

Vivendi Games has revealed that its revenues reached a record €1,018 million in 2007, a rise of 26.6 per cent on the previous year.

Blizzard Entertainment’s revenues took up most of this whopping total, coming in at €814 million – up 58 per cent. The media giant’s Sierra Entertainment, Sierra Online and Vivendi Game Mobile businesses reported €204 million in revenue, down 29 per cent year-on-year.

Star performer World of Warcraft saw another huge rise in subscribers, adding two million over the year to reach more than 10 million players worldwide.

For the fourth quarter of 2007, Vivendi Games’ revenues of €302 million were 7.4 per cent below the prior year, down 4.4 per cent on a constant currency basis. Blizzard Entertainment’s revenues of €186 million were higher than 2006 (Up 19 per cent), while the Sierra Entertainment, Sierra Online and Vivendi Games Mobile businesses were lower at €116 million (Down 32 per cent).
