Speaking at Square Enix’s annual shareholder meeting, CEO Yoichi Wada said that we’ll make a Final Fantasy VII remake once we’ve made a Final Fantasy game that exceeds the quality of FFVII”, according to Andriasang.

He added: If they were to release a VII remake right now, the FF franchise would be done with.”

Final Fantasy VII was released for PSOne in 1997 and was the first in the series to shun 2D in favour of rendered 3D graphics.
