Warner Bros plotting Minecraft movie

Minecraft creator Markus Persson is in discussion with Warner Bros over a Minecraft movie, he has announced.

The Mojang boss made the reveal in a Twitter post on Thursday: "Someone is trying leak the fact that we’re working with Warner Brothers on a potential Minecraft Movie. I wanted to be the leak."

It means the film has yet to be green lit, but the concept makes sense. Minecraft is a huge phenomenon with 100m PC players, over 10m gamers on Xbox 360 and already over 1m people playing on PSN. The game has been sitting atop the UK PSN charts for the last four weeks.
