Warner Bros reveals Injustice 2, coming out in 2017

The leak was true: there is a sequel to 2013’s Injustice: Gods Among Us on the way.

Publisher Warner Bros has revealed that a sequel – simply called Injustice 2 – is set for a 2017 launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The title is being developed by NeverRealm, the developer of Gods Among Us as well as the gory Mortal Kombat series.

This follows a retail leak outting the existence of Injustice 2.

In Injustice 2, we are introducing new features that will change the way fans play fighting games,” said NetherRealm creative director Ed Boon.

We’re always interested in pushing the genre forward and allowing players to customise and level-up their favourite DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains is a significant leap.”

Warner Bros president David Haddad added: Expanding the DC Universe in games continues to be one of our top priorities, and Injustice 2 showcases amazing gameplay and an original story to bring the characters to life for players. NetherRealm Studios is offering fans an experience of customising and battling with DC’s iconic characters in an entirely new way.”
