Warner builds empire with LEGO

President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment Martin Tremblay believes that LEGO Batman will kickstart the media giant’s assualt on the market – and that more studio acquisitions will help the new publisher compete with the trade’s existing big guns.

Following its acquisition of TT Games for an estimated 100m last year, Warner considers LEGO Batman as the first of many big releases to come.

We’re very, very happy with LEGO Batman,” said WBIE presdient Tremblay. It’s going to be the best TT game ever and will be our first big step in games for sure.”

And the smart money is on another big-money investment in a studio or two as Warner continues to ramp up its product pipeline with the help of its world famous IP.

I’m a strong believer that we are not going after developers just for a developer – but if we see something we want to do in a particular genre with a particular IP, then we will go after the developer that fits that profile and can complete the project.”
