Warner plans Midway IP revamp

Following the media empire’s $49 million Midway takeover, Warner Bros has chosen to name two of the various franchises it has bought along with the company.

As a result of the Midway acquisition, which includes the Mortal Kombat and SpyHunter franchises,” said the group, Warner Bros now has access to a greatly expanded catalog of valuable intellectual properties.”

The firm added that its Midway properties can be developed and re-released on new games and digital platforms, adapted for film or TV, leveraged for consumer products, or licensed to third parties.”

As well as this, Warner Bros revealed it had made a recent investment in the videogame on demand service, OnLive, which plans to launch this fall.”
