Wii U game Rodea the Sky Soldier includes a boxed Wii copy as a bonus

The first run of a recently released Wii U game in Japan has included an unusual extra – boxed copy of the same game for the Wii.

Kotaku reports that Rodea the Sky Soldier was originally made for Nintendo’s first motion-controlled console. However, despite being complete its original publisher Kadokawa Shoten ultimately decided against its release, coming as it would right at the end of the Wii’s lifecycle.

As a result, its developers have chosen to bundle it – complete with box and instructions -with the game’s Wii U version, which came out earlier this month.

Rodea the Sky Soldier is due out in America on September 22nd and in the UK this autumn. Publisher NIS American has also confirmed that these versions will also include the boxed Wii game.
