Wii version of Skylanders: Trap Team includes download code for Wii U release

Activision’s upcoming toys-to-life release will effectively offer a cross-buy option between Wii and Wii U.

The publisher tweeted at the weekend to say that the Wii version of Skylanders: Trap Team will include a code to download the title on Wii U – and it’s all the more notable considering that the game will very likely be one of the last to be released for the Wii.

Effectively this means that Wii owners will have the option of transferring the equipment needed to play the game over to Nintendo’s newest platform free of charge.

Skylanders: Trap Team will be released on Wii, Wii U, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and 3DS on October 10th.
