Windows 7 shifts 90m

More than 90m copies of Windows 7 licences have been sold, making it the fastest-selling operating system in history.

A post on The Windows Blog broke the news, with a spokesperson saying: We’re humbled and excited that people are responding so positively to Windows 7.”

Windows 7 for PC was released for manufacturers and partners in July last year, and went on general sale on October 22nd.

Microsoft’s chief financial officer Peter Klein originally made the announcement at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference.
