World of Tanks on PS4 does not require PS Plus subscription

Wargaming has confirmed that free-to-play title World of Tanks will shortly be arriving on PS4.

The biggest news, however, is that those wanting to play the game aren’t required to be paying subscribers to PlayStation Plus, which is normally needed to access online multiplayer titles.

This is in sharp contrast to on Xbox One, where the game is firmly locked behind the Xbox Live Gold paywall.

There will be extra for PS Plus subscribers, though, such as a free premium tank, assorted discounts and a three days worth of Premium Account access.

The PS4 game will have a few PS4-specific features, too, making use of the DualShock 4’s touchpad, speaker and light bar. Also supported are Share Play and Remote Play on Vita.

World of Tanks currently enjoys 150m registered players.
