Xbox Cloud boosts Forza 5 AI by 600%, dev Turn 10 claims

Cloud technology on the Xbox One can increase AI processing power by up to 600 per cent, claims the studio manager of Forza 5 developer Turn 10.

Speaking toOXM, Alan Hartman said developers were able to free up more of the console’s hardware for graphics and audio processing, and offload some aspects, such as the game’s AI, to the cloud.

"We can now make our AI instead of just being 20 per cent, 10 per cent of the box’s capability, we can make it 600 per cent of the box’s capability," he stated. "Put it in the cloud and free up that 10 per cent or 20 per cent to make the graphics better – on a box that’s already more powerful than we worked on before."
