XCOM: Enemy Unknown gets October release

2K Games has at last confirmed a 2012 release date for IP revamp XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

The Firaxis title for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC game will be released in the UK on October 12th. It will arrive in North America a few days earlier on October 9th.

Those who pre-order the game get some free content, too, in the form of the Elite Soldier Pack, which includes a character modelled based on the retro games in the series.

Although 3D, the game stays true to the series’ tactical roots and punishes players for careless decisions.
