Zenimax in new studio purchase

ZeniMax Media has reportedly acquired Swedish developer Machinegames, as revealed by an anonymous industry-monitoring Twitter post and corresponding business papers.

The tweet, posted on November 1st, reads Zeminax has also acquired Magnus Hogdahl’s new studio. I wonder if it will bleed talent like Starbreeze.”

The statement was then apparently verified by Swedish business records for ZeniMax, revealing a Machinegames re-branding to ZeniMax Sweden AB.

ZeniMax received $150m in funding last month to acquire new studios and this purchase, if proven accurate, would see Machinegames joining a raft of other studios recently brought by the US studio including id Software, Arkane Studios and Tango Gameworks.
