Zone of the Enders 3DS teased

GAMESCOM:Signs are increasingly pointing to a big return for Hideo Kojima’s Zone of the Enders IP.

An image posted to Twitter by Kojima himself clearly shows both a ZOE model and, far more interestingly, a background logo that clearly says ‘ZOE 3DS’.

Kojima’s accompanying Tweet simply asks What’s this?”, so fans are left playing a guessing game as to whether it alludes to an actual project or simply an office worker’s whimsy.

The Zone of the Enders series debuted on PS2 in 2001, with a sequel subsequently released in 2003. Though viewed favourably by some critics, the games never made a significant commercial impact.

An HD remake of both games was announced for Xbox 360 and PS3 last month, with an expected release of 2012.
