Here are your MCV Awards finalists for 2019

It’s that time of year again, where we celebrate the creativity, ingenuity and hard work of the UK’s games industry, it’s the MCV Awards 2019. We’ve had a great year, with some huge releases and three console platforms firing on all cylinders, while PC continued to grow.

As always we’re very thankful for the effort that the industry has put in to create all these entries for our judging panels. For next year we promise to look at reducing the burden on the industry, while still retaining the rigour and relevance that the categories provide.

A couple of quick changes to the running order this year. In response to the unprecedented number of entries in the PR category, we’ve decided to divide them into ‘Major’ and ‘Boutique’ awards based on headcount. This change is a reflection of the UK’s growing strength in the sector with genuine global reach.

We have also decided to switch our Major Publisher award to an editorially-decided shortlist, which will be voted on by all our judges across all our judging panels, in order to create a true industry-wide barometer of the best-of-the-best.

All of that means we have 16 awards categories this year, to continue our efforts to bring a focused lineup and streamlined event on the night. And with over fifty companies and almost 100 shortlisted nominations, we tried to keep the shortlists both concise and competitive.

This year’s awards event will follow last year’s hugely successful template to make it a more interactive and social event. Head to the MCV Awards 2019 website for table bookings and contact our new sales manager Alex Boucher for sponsorship opportunities.

So without further ado, here’s the MCV Awards shortlist for 2019, congratulations to everyone listed below. We hope to see you all at the awards ceremony on the 7th of March.
