Crackdown and Quantum Break moved to Gamescom as Microsoft leaps on Sony absence

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has said that two of Xbox One’s big exclusives will be saved for Gamescom.

Rest assured that titles like Crackdown, Quantum Break and Scalebound will be front and centre at Gamescom along with new game reveals for both Xbox One and Windows 10,” the exec wrote on Xbox Wire.

Sony announced last month that it would not hold a press conference at Gamescom in August, citing the fact that the events are taking place closer together than ever before (June 15th and August 5th).

This leaves the door wide open for Microsoft to win the Gamescom headlines – although none of that should lead you to believe that Microsoft will be taking it easy at E3 next week.

Having a jam-packed lineup of games to show at E3 means that there simply isn’t enough time to give each of our upcoming titles its well-deserved time in the spotlight,” he added. This has been a great year for gaming at Microsoft, and it’s only going to get better in the coming weeks and months.

With the greatest games lineup in Xbox history coming to Xbox One this year, and Windows 10 being the best operating system for gaming we’ve ever released, this is going to be an exceptional year for gamers. No matter where or how you play, I truly believe 2015 will be our biggest year yet.”

It has also previously promised a lot of E3 "surprises".

Spencer uses the term greatest games lineup in Xbox history” again in his Xbox Wire piece, and it’s a message that the company has also pushed on its Twitter feed.
