Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin confirmed for PS4, Xbox One

Dark Souls II is heading to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles next year, publisher Bandai Namco has announced.

The re-release of From Software’s challenging action-RPG sequel will launch on Sony and Microsoft’s latest hardware in April 2015. The title will carry new in-game events, item descriptions and additional NPCs to expand on the storyline.

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin will also be released as a standalone product on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, and those who already own the current version of Dark Souls II on any of those platforms will get the new content at no extra cost via a free update.

That said, only the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions will offer improved graphics on top of everything else. Here’s a look at the announcement’s accompanying trailer:
