Destiny 2 has been ‘rebooted’, report claims

The director of The Taken King has been put in charge of Destiny 2 development.

That’s according to Kotaku, whose track record on Destiny leaks is top notch. Earlier this year it revealed that Destiny 2 had been pushed back to 2017 – news that was officially confirmed a few weeks later.

The site says Destiny 2 has been rebooted”, with Taken King director Luke Smith placed in charge following a reorganisation of staff at Bungie.

Also leaked is the name of the next Destiny expansion, which will be called Rise of Iron. An official reveal is expected at E3 ahead of a September release. It’s claimed that the content is loosely based on a raid that was previously cut from the House of Wolves DLC.

Rise of Iron will feature a new raid and offer more content than previous DLCs. It’s also very likely to be tied into the game’s regular Iron banner PvP events.
