Frontier puts name to digital distribution milestone

100th WiiWare game is LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias

The 100th WiiWare game is set to arrive tomorrow, in the form of Frontier Developments’ latest sequel, LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias. The follow-up to last year’s award-winning launch title for Nintendo’s console digital distribution channel, the game costs 1000 Wii points.

Like it’s predecessor, the puzzle platform title lets players use the Wii Remote to manipulate the wind to their advantage. This time around numerous new abilities are included, as players help Toku and Enril’s save Toku’s mother, lift an ancient curse and defeat the evil Balasar.

“We launched the original LostWinds game on WiiWare with much anticipation, as it was such an exciting and new way to access games," said David Braben, Frontier’s chairman and founder. "We are now thrilled to be able to mark the 100th game launch on WiiWare with LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias.”
