User-made games site YoYo looking to reward creative gamers and designers

$1,750 up for grabs to indie devs

Online portal for user-made games YoYo has launched a development contest with a prize fund of $1,750.

YoYo is asking players and designers to make a game using the
site’s proprietary development tools, the ‘Game Maker’ software, designed by the site’s founder Mark Overmars.

YoYo ran a similar competition last year – for this latest one, developers have until April 27th to submit their game.

“We’re really very excited about the next competition. The originality and depth of gameplay achieved by the developers for the winter competition games demonstrates the power of GML as a language for online casual gaming, and suggests our community formula is already starting to pay off. We see this next competition as an opportunity for the community to flex their programming muscles,” said Sandy Duncan, CEO, YoYo Games.
