Full release of popular mod has reached sales milestone in less than six months

2m sales for standalone DayZ

The standalone version of DayZ has shifted more than 2m copies.

The sales figure was revealed by the game’s creator Dean Hall via Twitter, who has spent the last year or so overseeing the full production of what began as a mod for Bohemia Interactive’s Arma series.

The standalone DayZ was released on Steam Early Access just before Christmas and racked up 1m downloads within a month.

Hall recently revealed that he plans to leave Bohemia by the end of the year. The firm has recently doubled the number of people working on DayZ.
