Developers will be able to build their own websites, apps and online communities that connect with Halo 5: Guardians

343 Industries sharing Halo public stats API

The studio behind the latest Halo games is sharing an API that will give other developers access to players’ public stats.

The API will open up Halo 5: Guardians’ match histories, players’ service records, and ‘carnage reports’ offering a full statistical breakdown for each player in a match, according to GamaSutra

The idea is that devs will be able to use this to create new apps, websites and other forms of online communities for Halo 5: Guardians’ fanbase.

The API program is currently in private beta, with 343 planning to make it public around the launch of Halo 5 later this month.

“”We’ll support a fully-featured stats experience for Halo 5, but giving the community the ability to compile stats will allow developers to craft their own statistical story and experiences," the studio posted on Halo Waypoint

"We can’t wait to see what you develop and share with the Halo community later this year and beyond."
