German institution's facial animation tools applied to Quantum of Solace

Activision uses Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg tech

Activision has used facial animation technology developed by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg for the new Quantum of Solace game.

The technology was developed within Filmakademie’s Institute of Animation as part of its research project Artificial Actors.

"Using the tools allowed us to enhance our production pipelines and shorten times for creating believable character animation," says Filippo Costanzo, head of research and development.
