Alex McDowell to keynote first Vision VR/AR Summit

The organisers behind the inaugural Vision VR/AR Summit have named the first of the event’s three keynote speakers.

Hollywood production designer Alex McDowell will lead proceedings, drawing on his experience of world building and cinematic storytelling.

Founder and creative director of 5D Global Studio, McDowell has been instrumental in the production of major films such as Man of Steel, Watchmen, Minority Report, Fight Club and more. He has also worked with iconic Hollywood directors such as Steven Spielberg and Tim Burton.

Two more keynotes will be announced before the conference begins on February 10th. The two-day event will be held in Hollywood and explores the potential for augmented and virtual reality in all forms of entertainment.

It has already secured backing from Oculus, Unity Technologies, Steam VR, Sony and Vuforia. The conference will also host an awards, exhibition and more than 40 breakout sessions.
