Artists can share Substances, smart materials, meshes and shaders through browser

Allegorithmic to launch Substance Share next month

Allegorithmic will launch a new art asset sharing library called Substance Share next month.

The browser-based platform, set to go live during Siggraph from August 9th, enables artists to share Substances, smart materials, meshes, shaders and mesh-adaptive presets.

Users can upload their own materials or search for other artists’ submissions to download. Users can also tag, like and comment on each others’ work. Full Substance Designer and Painter integration is set to be unveiled in the Autumn.

Substance Share will only be available to Substance Live members during the first month. Access will be opened up to everyone from September 8th. The platform is free for all Substance users.

“3D artists willing to improve their skills will find a perfect ally in Substance Share,” said Allegorithmic CEO Sébastien Deguy.

“Whether it’s sharing materials or giving feedback, our community now has access to a great resource library that will only get more valuable as the years go by.”
