amBX to launch SDK in January 2009

amBX is to make its tool set freely available to developers from January 12th next year.

The SDK offers game makers everything needed to enhance games with amBX effects, including test tools and example applications. A support forum will also launch in the New Year to offer best practice information and provide a complete toolbox allowing developers to access the most advanced features of amBX.

amBX’s CEO Neil MacDonald said: “The amBX SDK provides developers with everything they need to get quickly up to speed and at no charge. It makes amBX very approachable and this will be a major step forward for us as we take the amBX proposition to wider markets and sectors. The whole point of amBX is to immerse the player deeper into the game and the amBX SDK now makes a rather complex operation very simple and extremely low cost."

Previously, the amBX SDK had only been available on a project-by-project basis. By making the SDK available for free, amBX will be hoping to increase the prominence of its audio technology in the games industry.
