Motion capture specialist buys InterSense tech to aid company growth

Animazoo expands mocap tech base

British motion capture outfit Animazoo is expanding its business by buying a customised version of InterSense’s IntertiaCube sensors. The firm hopes the new technology, which will be incorporated into its GypsyGyro line of mocap suits, will help its expansion into the life sciences market and also strengthen its offer to games companies.

"InterSense’s customized sensor has proved to be robust and capable of meeting our exacting specifications for the premium GypsyGyro product line," commented Ali Kord, founder & CTO of Animazoo.

"We value our continued partnership and are pleased their quality product has helped us expand our applications to biomechanics, sports science and physiotherapy within universities, sports clinics and physical therapy facilities, while maintaining our core business in the entertainment industry."

"We are delighted with this new order from Animazoo and look forward to continuing to support their business expansion," added Michael Donfrancesco, vice president of sales, InterSense. "InterSense has established itself as the industry standard for precision motion tracking in several key markets, and high volume partners such as Animazoo, provide us with the opportunity to enter new markets."
