Former Namco Bandai executive takes key position at French entertainment group

Ankama appoints Olivier Comte as COO and group director

Online game developer and publisher Ankama has appointed former Namco Bandai executive Olivier Comte as its new chief operating officer and group managing director.

Comte’s senior management expertise will be employed in next phase of Ankama’s international growth.

At the same time, Ankama co-founders Anthony Roux and Camille Chafer will be shifting their roles to creative director and technical director of the group respectively.

Comte joins Ankama after nine years in senior international roles at major global video game publishers Atari and, most recently, Namco Bandai Games Europe, where he was senior vice president.

“Comte brings a deep understanding of international markets and the global games industry to Ankama, with the aim of accelerating the growth of the group’s businesses and maximising the potential of its IP as it enters a new phase of international development,” said Ankama in a statement.

Ankama is an international company, headquarters in France, that is working with various sector in the entertainment industry, including animation, music and transmedia projects.
