Sony’s PSP Go!Cam launches on May 16th for £34.99.

Another PlayStation camera on the way.

Hot on the heels of last week’s announcement of the PlayStationEye camera peripheral for PS3, Sony has today unveiled its PSP equivalent – the Go!Cam.

Go!Cam is scheduled for launch on May 16th at a price of £34.99, or €49.99 on the continent. The attachment boasts two and a half hours of video recording time, or up to 40,000 photos, when used in conjunction with a 4GB memory stick.

The device also boasts a built-in microphone, as well as a swivel-hinged camera lens. The bundle will come with the Go!Edit editing software suite that allows users to save and modify photos and video.

‘Go!Cam is fantastic news for all those PSP owners looking for something new, fun and creative,” SCEE’s PSP marketing manager Stephane Hareau stated. “With summer around the corner and the ability to turn your PSP into a mini camcorder and capture all the best moments in your life, this is yet another reason to get a PSP and to take advantage of truly portable entertainment.

“It demonstrates yet again the potential, versatility and evolving nature of PSP.”
