ArcheAge suffers DDOS attack ahead of launch

The new MMO from the creator of Lineage has been his by DDOS attacks before its launch tomorrow.

ArcheAge, the title that XL Games founder Jake Song has been working on since 2006, is due for release in the US and Europe tomorrow but has already been made available to gamers that purchased the ‘head start’ bundle.

These early adopted have encountered numerous problems that mean they can only play ArcheAge for short periods of time, according to Gamasutra. XL Games has confirmed that this is down to denial-of-service attacks:

ArcheAge is the latest game to suffer from this type of attack. Last month, both RuneScape and Eve Online were hacked in the same way, with reports suggesting League of Legends and ArenaNet had also been targeted.
