A new bill has legalised the use of wireless devices for gambling in casinos

Atlantic City gambling goes mobile

Gamblers in Atlantic City can now run the tables while sitting at the bar.

The state senate gambling commitee authorised a new bill legalising the use of mobile devices for gambilng within casinos.

Nevada has had a similar bill on the books since 2005, which enables patrons to gamble almost anywhere within casino grounds.

"This is an exciting area we need to address, and New Jersey can be the forefront," said Joseph Tyrell of the Casino Association of New Jersey.

It is unclear who would be responsible for development and security, but pressofAtlanticCity quotes state Division of Gaming Enforcement official David Rebuck as saying he is confident "New Jersey can develop regulations to ensure the integrity of the wireless gaming devices, as well as the ability to keep them out of the hands of children."
