Cipher Prime will make new game if they can crowd source $60,000

Auditorium dev to fund sequel with Kickstarter

Cipher Prime, the studio behind the rhythm-based games Auditorium, Pulse, and Fractal, has announced it will make a sequel, Auditorium 2: Duet, if it can raise $60,000 on Kickstarter.

Cipher Prime’s Will Stallwood told Joystiq that this figure represents half of the funds needed for the game, and the rest will be supplied by the studio if the $60,000 is raised.

The game will only be made if the kickstarter goal is reached.

The sequel is the first of Cipher Prime’s games to include multiplayer, and will be launched first on Steam.

"There is a whole slew of new features popping up," Stallwood said.

"We’re really hoping to make a very unique co-op experience with Duet. Maybe one of the most exciting things multiplayer will bring is the idea of creating music rather than just filling levels."

In the past, Cipher Prime has been funded out of pocket and by credit cards, but with kickstarter, the project is less "mind-bendingly scary".
