Australia to start charm offensive on world’s developers?

The shortage of highly-skilled workers in Australia may lead to an increased demand of immigrants, claims the Australian Visa Bureau.

The article cites statistics from GameSpot AU, saying that the Australian game development industry has grown by 15 per cent this year, with employment numbers similarly rising from 1,600 to 2,000.

The growth in demand for skilled professionals will lead to companies looking overseas for their staff, speculates the article, also mentioning that IT salaries in the country can be up to 30 per cent higher than market rates.
