GDAA to team up developer event with eGames consumer show for Asia Pacific region

Australian game dev association unveils ‘Games Week’

The Games Developers’ Association of Australia is aiming to create ‘the largest and most influential event in the Asia Pacific region’ by pairing its industry conference with a consumer games show.

Called Game Connect Asia Pacific 2007, the event runs from November 15th to 17th.

The GDAA hopes that the event can be used to launch games and services as well as provide the usual networking for people in Australia’s games industry.

In a newsletter to members, CEO of the GDAA Greg Bondar said the event was "an ideal opportunity for Australian and international game developers to network with industry colleagues such as publishers, programmers, developers, creative artists and with players intimately involved in the digital content sector of the industry in the Asia-Pacific region".

He added: "Both delegates and exhibitors will be able to enjoy wide media exposure and coverage from around the region and meet and interact with fellow game developers, publishers, distributors, governments and businesses."

The trade-side of the event will also include a special day devoted to two key industry issues, with a national Skills Summit and an Investment Summit.

More details are set to be announced in the coming months.
