Developer to build brand new game from the ground-up with its own tech

BioWare plots Mass Effect sequel and new IP

BioWare is plotting a new entry in its blockbuster Mass Effect series, it has revealed.

The developer’s Edmonton and Montreal general manager Aaryn Flynn said the team, headed by executive producer Casey Hudson, had plans for another full game set in the same universe.

As well as a new entry into the popular Mass Effect series, Flynn also revealed work had begun on a brand new IP set in a fictional universe.

He also said that new game would be built from the bottom-up with all new gaming technology.

The reveal of the in-development games came as the studio announced the departures of founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk.

The duo founded the developer in 1995, which has since expanded from its Edmonton roots to five other studios around the world creating a wealth of new IP.
