Firm aims to give small to medium-sized devs similar technology to larger mobile games firms

BitHeads releases BrainCloud backend solution

Canadian firm BitHeads has launched BrainCloud, an accessible backend solution that helps devs implement multiplayer features and monetisation.

The cloud-based platform also enables developers to add social features like leaderboards, achievements that also trigger in Apple’s Game Center, push notifications, and scheduled promotions.

BrainCloud can also handle virtual currencies and lets developers set prices for in-game items quickly and efficiently.

BitHeads claims that BrainCloud is designed to give small to medium-sized developers access to similar technology to that powering games from firms such as Zynga and King.

"With BrainCloud we have built a robust and scalable platform that helps developers concentrate do what they do best: make great games," said BitHeads CEO Scott Simpson. "We help them get games out faster, save on development, hosting and maintenance costs, and have built in features specifically created to increase revenue."

Developers that have used BrainCloud include Spearhead Games and The Simpsons: Tapped Out creators Bight Games.
