Senior online engineer and lead writer needed for Microsoft's newly-acquired franchise

Black Tusk Studios hiring for new Gears of War

In the wake of news that it is taking over development on Gears of War, Black Tusk Studios is now hiring for its first entry in the series.

The Vancouver-based developer has posted job listings on Microsoft’s careers page calling for a senior online engineer and lead writer, according to DualShockers.

The former position will be working on a "web application to support console and multi-screen end points", implying some form of companion app, SmartGlass functionality or a web portal similar to EA’s Battlelog and Autolog systems.

Meanwhile, the ad for the lead writer makes several references to an "emotionally engaging" and "enthralling character-driven" story.

Yesterday, Microsoft announced it had acquired the Gears of War franchise and all its rights from creator Epic Games. Series producer Rod Fergusson has joined Black Tusk to oversee the future of the franchise.
